    David Quealey of Lowell; 80 LOWELL -- David Quealey passed away Saturday, January 17th in Fairhaven Healthcare Center at the age of 80. David was born in Lowell, to David and Margaret Quealey, who were originally from County Clare, Ireland. David attended Keith Academy and Lowell Tech, where he earned a degree in Chemical Engineering. After college he moved to Kittery, Maine and worked at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. David loved being active outside, and living near the ocean in Maine. He spent his time rowing, swimming, running, and biking. He competed in triathlons into his early 70s, and even won first place in his age division for a triathlon when he was 68. He was involved in the community of Portsmouth, New Hampshire. He volunteered for Habitat for Humanity, attended the Unitarian Universalist Church, and would go to exercise classes several days a week. He could often be found after his exercise class in the coffee shop with his friends, talking and laughing. David is survived by his daughter, Susan Hines, his brothers John Quealey, Joe Quealey, and Jimmy Quealey, and his sister Clare Dube. QUEALEY -- Viewing hours will be 9-11am Thursday, January 22nd at Fay McCabe Funeral Home in Lowell, followed by a funeral and mass at 11:30 at Holy Family Parish-St. Maries Church. Memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Massachusetts. To Plant Memorial Trees in memory, please visit our Sympathy Store. Published in Lowell Sun on Jan. 20, 2015.
