Introduction

A daughter from the first marriage of Bruce Joseph Forsyth-Johnson, a British entertainer and presenter for over 70 years. Her mother was Penny Calvert. From a story in The Daily Mail, July 2010 after he was on "Who Do You Think You Are": His own first marriage, to Penny Calvert, a dancer at London's Windmill Theatre, with whom he had three daughters - Debbie, Julie and Laura - suffered a dent when Bruce had an affair with Miss World 1964, Ann Sidney, and a fling with 1960s pop star Kathy Kirby. Debbie is Bruce's eldest daughter and is currently fighting to get everyone to microchip their pets. Scroll down to read the story.

Bruce Forsyth’s daughter Debbie wants law changed following theft of pet dogs

Debbie Matthews, the daughter of the late Sir Bruce Forsyth and his first wife Penny Calver, wants to ensure that all pets are with their true owner, following her own personal heartache. The 66-year hopes to do this by asking vets to check the microchip of each pet they see.

After years of campaigning on the matter, it looks as though a change in the law is on the horizon.

Five years after she first embarked on her mission, the government is considering making it the law.

In addition to this, it will call for the compulsory microchipping of cats.

Debbie’s dedication to the campaign began when she experienced the heartache of losing a pet first hand.
