Investigators are on the scene
. . . at a Kansas City cemetery after a grave was disturbed.
The Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department says it was called to the Forest Hill Cemetery at Gregory and Troost Ave. on Tuesday, July 1, with reports that a grave had been disturbed.
KCPD told KCTV5 it had opened an investigation into the property crime; however, it is still early in the process. A broken gate could be seen at the scene, as it is believed the suspect may have rammed a vehicle through it.
As of 1:15 p.m., investigators remain at the cemetery as they continue to gather evidence and eyewitness accounts. “We had nothing to do with this, and we’re doing everything to cooperate with the investigation,” the owners of the cemetery told KCTV5.
The family of Delshon L. Dupriest, the man whose grave was disrupted, said he was killed around 27 years ago.
