Van Go:
Helen came into Ellis Island as a young child before WWI, & married my grandfather Samuel L Goz who saw her on the ship & became neighborhood friends & their parents attended same religious temple. Once married they opened up an old fashioned (Ice Cream Float Favorite) Soda Shop on a busy corner in Brooklyn. Samuel was blessed with a tall handsome son, with jet black hair, olive skin & bright attentive eyes. Helen was blessed with Gail, & they stayed in Brooklyn until their passing. Their son went on to study in upstate New York in the Adirondacks. It is there that he studies archeology, than turned his head towards becoming an R.N. & being able to spend more time with his nurse student & girlfriend Debbie who he has always loved unconditionally. They were married for 37 years. They had 2 daughters who had 2 more daughters & then a third. The Goz family spent most of thier working life helping selflessly as FT pediatric nurse & Louis, a well liked & respected ER night shift for 40 years. On his free time he volunteered as a paramedic & was part of the Round Lake, NY on call firemen. Louis Goz, my father & mother spent a combined 76 years saving the lives of thousands of people in New York State, Florida, CT, & The UK. They were the most loved, caring, kind, adventurous & generous people in the state. My father would come home after 12 hr shifts with blood on his uniform & I knew there was another life saved bec of my Dad’s urgency to get blood as fast as possible to victims of car crashes along the nearby Interstate. I am honored to have been raised in a home with two of the world’s most amazing & empathic humans on Earth. They have put millons of bandaids on broken toes, casts on fingers, arms, legs & put loved ones back together again. Deborah Goz died while on her shift as the evening charge nurse after 44 years of caring for those no one wanted to bother helping, the lost elderly that were frequently left with very few visits from any soul. My mother would be found reading books & holding the hands of thousands of humans until they took their last breath from old age. Thanks to Yale Nuerologist, Dr Kevin Gobeske & 2 surgeons she made it home after brain surgeries that was a brand new technique & not normal procedure. Especially after not breathing for over 7 mins…she woke up & shocked 2 countries when they knew they’d get to see her one last time! Thank you to all the selfless medical professionals like the Goz’s who will not think twice to help the poor or injured or sick or abandoned youth or left behind elderly parents. If your family had the priviledge to be treated by either one of the Goz parents I know they gave you their all so that you left whole & with loving care.
