Introduction

I am Dionicios great grandson he was 95 when he passed away he never walked with a cane he was always dressed in slacks and a button down shirt boots and cowboy hat till the day he died. It has been said that the day he died he went to the ER for chest pain while there he was given a medication and admitted to the hospital but due to miss charting by a hospital employee he was given a double dose of the medication and that is what caused his death.

In 1906, in the year that Dionicio B Gamboa was born, English biochemist Frederick Hopkins concluded that vitamins are essential to the human body and that a lack of vitamins caused scurvy and rickets. Scurvy and rickets were both huge problems in sailors that were at sea for extended time and the addition of vitamin C, vitamin D, and calcium in their diets helped eradicate the problem.

In 1924, when he was 18 years old, in May, wealthy college students Nathan Leopold and Richard Loeb kidnapped and killed 14 year old Robert Franks "in the interest of science". Leopold and Loeb thought that they were intellectually superior and that they could commit the perfect crime and not be caught. They were brought in for questioning within 8 days and quickly confessed. Clarence Darrow was hired as their defense lawyer, getting them life imprisonment instead of a death sentence. Loeb was eventually killed in prison - Leopold was released after 33 years, dying of a heart attack at age 66.
