Donald Keith Reed was born to Sylvia Ann Young (1904-1941) and Ralph Glenn Reed (1895-1932) in Milliken, Weld, Colorado, USA on November 24, 1927. He had two siblings, a sister Ruth Faye (1924-2013) and a brother Marvin Glenn Reed (1932-2009). He also has one half sibling, Thomas Alvin Whiting (born 1937). Donald and his siblings grew up in Walker Creek, Converse, Wyoming and on a homestead north of Douglas. On April 17, 1945 he enlisted in the United States Army in Fremont County, Wyoming and during World War I, he served in the US Army, 3rd Division and was stationed in Germany during the occupation. He was honorably discharged on December 16, 1946. A few years later, he married Stella Rosella Weaver (1932-20120) on August 3, 1948 in Fremont County, Wyoming. They had 3 sons together. Donald Keith Reed was born in Milliken, Weld, Colorado and grew up in Walker Creek, Converse, Wyoming and on a homestead north of Douglas, Wyoming. He enlisted in the United States Army in Fremont County, Wyoming and during World War I, he was stationed in Germany. After being discharged, he moved to Casper, Wyoming, and later to Riverton, Wyoming where he passed in 1994.

Donald registered for the World War II Draft in 1945 in Douglas, Converse, Wyoming. About one year later, he enlisted into the United States Army on November 5, 1945 in Ft Ord California. His military serial number was 37717873. His terms of enlistment were for one year, and he was discharged on December 16, 1946.

He worked as a tinsmith, coppersmiths, and sheet metal worker and in 1945 was employed by " Fred Anderson". Following his discharge, Donals went to work for Etlin Peterson Construction Company of Casper, Wyoming. There, he spent 25 years as a laborer and dragline operator. In 1971. Mr. Reed moved to Riverton, Utah where he owned Reed's Hide and Metal. Due to ill health in 1988, he sold the company to his son, Keith.

At age 18 Donald was 5'4", 135 lbs, with light complexion, blonde hair, and blue eyes according to his WWII Draft card. His next of kin was listed as AJ Young.

RIVERTON- Services for Donald Keith Reed. 66. of Riverton will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday by Rev. O.G, Garcia. Burial will be at the Mountain View Cemetery with Veterans of Foreign Wars Committal Rites held at the Davis Funeral Home in Riverton. Mr. Reed died Jan. 8, 1994, at Riverton Memorial Hospital. He was born Jan. 24. 1927. in Milliken, Colo., the son of Ralph and Sylvia Reed. He grew up on a homestead north of Douglas and attended high school in Douglas. During World War I, he served in the US Army, 3rd Division and was stationed in Germany during the occupation. On Aug. 3, 1948, he married Stella Weaver. Following his discharge, Mr. Reed went to work for Etlin Peterson Construction Company of Casper. He spent 25 years as a laborer and dragline operator. In 1971. Mr. Reed moved to Riverton, where he owned Reed's Hide and Metal. Due to ill health, he sold the company to his son, Keith, in 1988. Survivors include his wife, Stella of Riverton: two sons. Ken Reed of Boise, Idaho, and Keith Reed of Riverton; a sister, Ruth Mears of Bonita, Calif.: two brothers, Marvin Reed of Casper and Tom Whiting of San Diego, Calif: and two granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his parents. The Davis Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
