Doris was survived by two brothers, Arthur and Herbert an Doren. Doris Van Doren married Ebbitt Westervelt Hardingham in 1947. (See Doris Hardingham). Later in life, she had also worked at Airco, Corporation, located in Murray Hill New Jersey. In 2020, the headquarters of Airco Industrial Gases, as it was known, BOC Gases and Linde Gases in Murray Hill was demolished.

Doris was born in New Jersey into a family a five: her parents, Roscoe Van Doren and Lena Neal, and her brothers, Aaron and Herbert. She married Ebbitt Westetvelt Hardingham on November 29, 1947 and they had sons Reid and John.

Doris Hardingham WARREN - Mrs. Doris Van Doren Hardingham, 52, of 70 Mountain Avenue died Saturday (October 22 1977) at Muhlenberg Hospital. Born in Plainfield, she lived in Warren since 1950, moving there from Watchung. She was employed by Airco Corporation, Murray Hill. She was a member of Wilson Memorial Union Church, Watchung. Surviving are a husband, Ebbitt Hardingham, two sons, Reid and John, both at home, and two brothers, Arthur Van Doren of Watchung and Herbert Van Doren of North Plainfield. Arrangements are by the Higgins Home for Funerals, Watchung. - The Courier-News (Bridgewater, New Jersey) Monday, October 24, 1977 on page 3.
