He had siblings Marcella Hill Smith, Antone Hillary Hill, Marion Catherine Hill Eggleston, John Farley Hill, Leonard Douglas Hill, and William Gordon Hill. Duncan Hill married Eleanor Dorothy Robinson in 1933, and died at age 74 years old on July 8, 1974 in Rutherglen.
