Edith Wheeler, born in 1892, the first woman in Concord Mass to drive an automobile. Edith lived on 9 acre corner. At age 36 she married a 'poor farmer' named Clarence Ackerman and settled in Benson, Vermont.

I'd like to know more about her relationship with her friend by the last name of Clark and about her relationship with cousins in Peaks Island Maine.

Grandma (Edith) was highly intelligent, adventurous in her youth and a wonderful Grandmother. She attended Mt. Holyoke College and became a teacher. She taught High School German at one time in Florida. She married at age 36 to my Grandfather 6 years younger. She was much taller than him and from a higher economic status but the Depression was an equalizer in this case. On returning from their honeymoon they found that they had lost much of their money. Grandma was thrifty and managed to help Grandpa fulfill his dream of owning a farm which he did at a fairly late age, moving to Benson Vermont.
