Eddie Bennett, mascot, N.Y., 1921
A photo of the New York Yankees (baseball) mascot, Eddie Bennett, in 1921.
In 1919, Eddie became the mascot for the Chicago White Sox (after convincing them that he had magical powers that would bring them luck).
At age 18, he went on to be mascot/bat boy of the NY Yankees, where he retired (just before his death) in 1932.
