    Edward T. Buck was born in Pennsylvania to Ilene G Buck and Ida M. Buck. Both of his parents had been born in Pennsylvania. Edward Buck married Pearl Adams in 1926 and they had five children: Carolyn, Edith, Edward "Teddy", Ellsworth, and Barbara Buck. They eventually had 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. A lifelong teacher, Edward also published a book: "The Appalachian Bobcat and all its North American Kin".
