Elizabeth Ann Edwards naquit le 28 février 1820 à Big Barren Creek, Claiborne, Tennessee, États-Unis. Son père, Spencer Edwards Sr., avait 26 ans et sa mère, Lucinda Catherine « Katy » Riddle, 30 ans. Elle épousa Henry Keck le 17 mai 1839 à Claiborne, Tennessee, États-Unis. Ils eurent au moins cinq fils et six filles. Elle vécut à Laurel, Kentucky, États-Unis en 1850, puis à Knox, Kentucky, États-Unis en 1880. Elle mourut le 14 avril 1867 à Claiborne, Tennessee, États-Unis, à l'âge de 47 ans.
