Elizabeth (Weckert) Landro was born on March 25, 1929 in Cloquet, Carlton County, Minnesota United States to Jesena "Sena" Weckert and Joseph Weckert, and had siblings Raymond Weckert, Patricia Weckert Johnson, Violet Elizabeth (Weckert) Wilson, and Rose Marie (Weckert) Pressley. She married Trygve Landro, and they were married until Trygve's death on January 14, 2002. She had a child Andrea (Landro) Pike. Elizabeth Landro died at age 87 years old on December 30, 2016 in Cloquet.

    Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Landro, 87, of Cloquet, Minn., passed away Friday, Dec. 30, 2016 in Inter-Faith Care Center in Carlton, Minn. She was born March 25, 1929 in Cloquet to Joseph and Sena (Madsen) Weckert and graduated from Cloquet High School. Betty graduated from the College of St. Scholastica in 1953 as a registered nurse and worked at St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth until she left to help open Cloquet Memorial Hospital in 1958. She retired from the hospital in 1979 as the director of nurses. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Trygve; sisters, Evelyn, Violet and Rose; and brother, Raymond. Betty is survived by her daughter, Andrea (Jeff) Pike of Ely, Minn.; sister, Patricia Johnson; and several nieces and nephews. The family wishes to acknowledge Inter-Faith Care Center staff for the extraordinary care they provided Betty. Visitation: Saturday, Jan. 7, from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Cloquet, followed by a luncheon in the church social hall. Inurnment service will be at Maple Grove Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Community Memorial Hospital Foundation.
