Elizabeth Backhouse Stevens c. 1825 - 1910

Elizabeth (Backhouse) Stevens of Prahran Australia was born circa 1825. She was married to Stevens Philip Reynolds Bowden on November 29, 1847, and had children Rosa Bailey Saunders, Edwin Henry Stevens, Annie Julia Bowden, Philip Hepburn Stevens, Charlotte Elizabeth Stevens, and Stanley Wyman Stevens. Elizabeth Stevens died at age 84 years old on October 26, 1910 in Wynyard, Waratah-Wynyard Council County, TAS, and was buried at Jenner St, in Wynyard.

I Think they were just covering both spellings of Philip. My records have Philip. The first child (Rosa) was born in Liverpool on 26th September 1848, barely 10 months after Elizabeth and Philip married. All the later children were born in Victoria. You might like to check Victorian BDMs. There are no long gaps between the 6 children's births so I doubt there was another Phillip anywhere. Stranger things have happened, though.
