life of Mary (Elizabeth) Harnett
Mum was born in 1945
at a young age , her mother (Harriett McGregor Rogers - Smith - Harnett was put into hospital for some time. Her mother had a very hard life and when 1st divorced she had o give up 5 children ) this drove her mother to depression & drink . Mary was 5th of 6 children to her 2nd husband (William Henry Harnett) Mary's father. So , Mary and (sibling Marie) were placed in a convent in Bendigo Victoria. (a very harsh life) this was because the law did not allow men to raise their daughters without a woman in the home.
Mary met her 1st husband (Daryl Sullivan) at age 17. They married and had 3 children. After a short time they divorced due to family pressures. After a short period of about 3 years Mary met her second husband (Harold Wright) & they had a daughter in 1969. He was a cruel man to his Wife & Step children. Subsequently he was imprisoned for his actions on the girls and Mary divorced and moved to Sea Lake Vic where her eldest son (Daryl lived) she lived in Sea lake for about 10 years. She was diagnosed with Brain Cancer in 2014 and after 2 Cranial Operations and numerous treatment avenues Mary succumbed to the disease in May 2015.
