Elsie May (Foggo) Shields of Geelong Australia was born in 1892 in Geelong to Matthew Foggo and Ellen Nellie (Wilson) Foggo. She had siblings Matthew Wilson Foggo, Nellie Violet Foggo, Jessie Muriel Caisley Fogg, Sydney David Foggo, Florence Margaret Foggo, John Robert Foggo, Myrtle Lillian Foggo, and Janet Victoria Foggo. She married William Shields in 1920, and had children Matthew John Shields, William Thomas Shields, and Ellen May Shields. Elsie Shields died at age 81 years old in 1973 in Norl.

In 1892, in the year that Elsie May (Foggo) Shields was born, on October 5th, the Dalton Gang was shot. The Gang was attempting to rob two banks - simultaneously - in Coffeyville Kansas but word spread of the robberies and townspeople with guns greeted them when they left the banks. Four members of the gang were killed - only Emmett Dalton survived his wounds and spent 14 years in prison.
