    Jennings - Funeral services for Emile "Mitt" Simar, 72, will be held at 2:00 PM today, January 31st, at Our Lady of Christians Catholic church. The Rev. Albert Borel will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Segura-Matthews funeral home. Mr. Simar died at 3:23 AM Friday, January 29th at a Jennings Hospital. He was a native of Evangeline and had lived in the Evangeline and Jennings area most of his life. He worked as a welder and was an avid baseball fan, having played the position of catcher in a regional league in his younger days. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Amy Simar; three sons, Charles A Simar of Houston, Michael Simar of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Mark Simar of Duson, Louisiana; four daughters, Mrs. Yvonne Dewey of Lake Jackson, Texas, Kathleen Simar of St. Louis, Missouri, Mrs. Polly Bonin of Elizabeth, Louisiana, Mrs. Mary Margaret Sonnier of Jennings; one brother John Simar of Evangeline, one sister Mrs. Zelma Simar of Jennings, and 14 grandchildren.
