Leonard and Emma Smith
I've "rescued" two old photographs belonging to the SMITH Family of Wisconsin. The first is one of Leonard and Emma SMITH which was taken at the Sawyer Studio in Horicon, WI. The photograph appears to have been taken in the 1890's with the couple in their teens or 20's at the time. The second photograph is one of Morris SMITH which was taken at the Mason's Art Gallery in Marshfield, WI. This photograph was also taken in the 1890's with Morris just an infant at the time. In addition to his name, someone has written "died at Marshfield" on the back of the photograph.
Based on limited research I was able to locate the following information regarding this SMITH Family:
Leonard John SMITH was b. 2 Jan 1875 in Iron Mountain, WI to parents William SMITH (1837-1916) and Anna Marie LATCH (1846-1896). Leonard was one of 9 children born to this couple including, Caroline; Ruebin; Dagmer; Leonard J.; Florence; Hallie; Willie; Arthur; and Sidney SMITH all born between 1868 and 1882. Leonard married Emma CUNDY (1879-1944) and together they had 5 children including, Morris H.; Alma Alice; Alfred Hiram; Ellen May; and Carol Emma SMITH, all born between 1899 and 1921. Leonard d. 23 Jan 1970 in Port Edwards, WI and is buried in the Hillside Cemetery in Marshfield, WI.
Emma CUNDY was b. 28 Oct 1879 in Champion, MI to parents Thomas CUNDY (1852-1916) and Emma HILL (1853-1942). Emma married Leonard John SMITH (1875-1970) and she died 12 Jun 1944 and is also buried in the Hillside Cemetery in Marshfield, WI.
Morris H. SMITH was b. 10 Jul 1898 and joined the Army in 1916 and later noted as disabled with TB. Morris’ occupation was noted in records as Mail Clerk. Morris was noted in military records as the son of Lemar J. SMITH and Emma C. SMITH both of Marshfield, WI. Morris d. 27 Sept 1928 and is buried in the Hillside Cemetery in Marshfield, WI.
