Emma (Dick) Gunyah was Tlingit Indian, from Angoon Alaska. Her mother was Raven Clan and father was Eagle Clan. Emma (Dick) Gunyah had three brothers in Angoon. Peter Dick, Albert Dick, and Andrew Dick. Since people identified themselves as being from a tribal "House", they came from the Basket Bay Arch House. At 13 or 14 years of age, Emma Dick was sent to Klawock, Alaska, to marry William Gunyah, in a pre-arranged marriage. Together, William and Emma Gunyah had 12 daughters and 2 sons.
