She married Alfred William Fowler Ternes, and had children Yvonne Marie (Ternes) Rawlins, Georgette Emelie Ternes, and Denise (Ternes) Baker. Emmaline Ternes died at age 84 years old on September 14, 1965 in Brighton, Bayside City County, VIC Australia, and was buried at Springvale Crematorium in Springvale, Greater Dandenong City County.

TERNES. - On September 14, at a private hospital, Emmaline Victoria, dearly beloved mother of Yvonne, Denise ( dec.), and Georgette, mother-in-law of Dick and Les, and loved grandma of Norma, Richard, Don and Kaye, loved sister of Clara ( Mrs. Firth ). Reunited with Denise ( died April 9 1965 ). Peacefully sleeping. Too dearly loved to be forgotten.
