Essie L Truitt 1911 - 2008

Essie Lee (Lawhorn) Truitt of Birmingham, Jefferson County, AL was born on January 22, 1911 in Fort Deposit, Lowndes County to Jessie Lawhorn and Bettie (Gandy) Lawhorn. She had siblings Tommie Lawhorn, Jessie E Lawhorn, Henry Lawhorn, Emily (Lawhorn) Harris, Theodore Lawhorn, Gennie (Lawhorn) Perdue, and Ruben Lawhorn. She married Roosevelt Truitt, and they were married until Roosevelt's death on January 15, 1994. She had children Jessie James Lawhorn, George Truitt, Leon Truitt, Abbie Lee (Truitt) Johnson, Roosevelt Truitt Jr, Eugene Truitt, and Bennie Ray Truitt. Essie Truitt died at age 97 years old on March 25, 2008 in Birmingham, Jefferson County, and was buried on March 29, 2008 at Summer hill cemetery Truitt Road, in Fort Deposit, Lowndes County.
