Eunice (Bryan) Mitting was born on December 1, 1923 in Geelong, Greater Geelong City County, VIC Australia to Ronald Ernest Bryan and Mamie Albertha (Thomas) Bryan, and had siblings Kenneth Edward Bryan and Neil Ronald Bryan. She married William Alfred Mitting on April 5, 1947 at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, in Geelong, Victoria, and they were married until death separated them. She had a child Kenneth Charles Mitting. Eunice Mitting died at age 74 years old on April 7, 1998 in Geelong, VIC, and was buried at Barrabool Hills Cemetery, Highton. Victoria 168 Barrabool Rd, in Highton.

In 1923, in the year that Eunice (Bryan) Mitting was born, on August 2nd, Calvin Coolidge was sworn in as the 30th President of the United States due to the sudden death of Warren G. Harding. After the scandals of the Harding presidency, Coolidge restored public confidence and was very popular. He won the Presidential election in 1924 but declined to run again in 1928.

In 1937, at the age of merely 14 years old, Eunice was alive when on May 6th, the German zeppelin the Hindenburg caught fire and blew up. The Hindenburg was a passenger ship traveling to Frankfurt Germany. It tried to dock in New Jersey, one of the stops, and something went wrong - it blew up. Thirty-six people were killed out of the 97 on board - 13 passengers, 22 crewmen, and one ground worker. The reasons for the explosion are still disputed.
