Introduction

The Fletcher Letcher Gilbert, born June 22, 1918, that I knew was the son of Lola Conrad Gum and Jacob Dev Gilbert. I am not positive where he was born. At this time I am Fletcher’s oldest living child that I am aware of. I had a full blooded sister. Her name was Phyllis Jean Gilbert born June 27, 1939. She passed away August 13, 2004 in Dunbar, WV from congested heart failure. I was born June 14,1938 in Charleston, WV. I was raised by Fletchers parents while my sister spent most of her childhood with our mother’s parents. Our mother was Gladys Faye Carter. There was another girl born July 10, 1943 named Linda Lou to Fletcher’s wife named Corice in California. Linda spent young years with her maternal Grandparents and later with her mom and adopted dad in California. Lynda now lives in North Carolina and has a daughter and son. Being the oldest child of Fletchers I knew about all of the children and started looking for Linda and found her about 11 years ago. We do not get to see each other much but do talk often and have found many similarities that we have. We do have other siblings, but they will have to decide what they want to share Of course, there’s more I could share, I would love to meet the other sister and brother that we have, but not in this lifetime..
