Floyd Wesley Storey was born to William Cornelius Story (1886 - 1971) and Laura Catherine Carter (1889 - 1967) . He had siblings Homer, Wilton, Thelma, Coleman, Mary Story, and two more sisters. He also had a half sister. Floyd married Susie Irilla Nye (1920 - 1998) on April 24, 1937, in Monroe Arkansas when he was age 18. They divorced on December 2 of the same year after having daughter Becky. Floyd was a veteran of World War II, having served as a Corporal in the United States Army.
