Frances Bertha (Siede) Adams of Mooroopna Australia was born in 1886 in Richmond, City of Yarra County, VIC to Julius Henry Siede and Jemima (Eastick) Siede. She had siblings Leonard Eastick Siede, Doris (Siede) Harney, Onna Marie (Siede) Longley, and Julius Henry Percival Siede. She married David William Adams, and had children Myra Joyce (Adams) Mancer, Dorothy Adams, and Lorna Adams. Frances Adams died at age 44 years old on October 31, 1931 at Mooroopna Hospital in Mooroopna, and was buried at Kyabram Cemetery Lancaster Rd, in Kyabram, Campaspe Shire County.

In 1886, in the year that Frances Bertha (Siede) Adams was born, on May 4th, a general strike began in Chicago. Workers were striking for an 8 hour workday and in protest of the killing - by police - of several workers the day before. When an unknown person threw a dynamite bomb, the strike became violent. Seven policemen were killed as well as 4 civilians. It became known as the Haymarket Riot and eventually resulted in an 8 hourwork day as well as commemorations on May 1st for worker's rights.
