Melinda, Lula (Marley) Sheeks & Her Children
Melinda (Payne), born in Martin County, Indiana, was David L. Sheeks's third wife. She brought along a daughter, Emma, who became David's stepdaughter, and later married William Mann. David had two children by Melinda: Sallie B. Sheeks (11 March 1880-12 March 1883)and Everett L. Sheeks (19 Mar 1882-26 Feb 1907). Melinda also helped raise David's four children still at home when his second wife died: Laura 16; Homer 14; Albert 8; and Lawrence 6. Everett married Lula Marley and their children in this picture are believed to be in this order: Evereet, Frances, Mabel, and Warren.
