He had siblings William James Smith, Margaret Bowring ( Smith, Mary Ramsay ( Smith, Ellen McKay ( Smith, Thomas Albert Smith, Les Smith, and Fred Smith. He married Margaret "Serena" Smith ( Dunstan, and had a child Harold George Smith. Francis Smith died at age 84 years old in 1969 in Bendigo, VIC, and was buried on September 29, 1969 in Bendigo.
