2 Memories, Stories & Photos about Francis

My Dad
My Dad was one of the most amazing, wonderful and hard working men who loved his family more than anything!
He was very sick for the last 25 years of his life and in a lot of pain on a daily basis. You would never know this. He would never complain, stayed strong and he fought! He loved his coffee and lucky strikes and that was his morning routine sitting on his front porch. Every morning he got up at 4:00 and enjoyed those two things and the quiet of the morning. Other than his family, his Denver Broncos were his favorite passion and his proudest achievements were always, his kids and being a Marine. He used to say there was nothing finer than a Marine in uniform. My Dad was stern but loving and loved us fiercely. If I have to live my life again someday in another time or place, I can only pray he would be
My Dad again. I miss him with every beat of my heart and every ounce of my soul. Until we meet again my Daddy, know you are loved and cherished and never , ever forgotten.

The photo of the Library Club which appeared in the 1950 William Allen High School yearbook. It reads at top:

"These students aren't bookworms, but they do like to read and enjoy working in our school library during their study hall periods. Their duties consist of shelving books, helping at the desk, reading shelves, and planning attractive displays for the show cases. At their regular Monday meetings, they are given problems to test their knowledge of special reference books.

The Library Club celebrated Book Week by sponsoring a book and magazine quiz which was given in all three assembly programs. The winner in each of the programs received a year's subscription to a magazine of his choice. Other outstanding activities included entertaining of the faculty at their annual tea, the selling of candy, souvenirs, etc. at the Girls' Physical Education Exhibition, and the presentation of the Bohemian Glass Blowers.

This club is an excellent organization for students interested in books and for those anticipating a library career."
Date & Place: at William Allen High School 106 North 17th Street, in Allentown, Lehigh County, Pennsylvania 18102, United States
