Gary was born in Kansas City, Missouri and adopted by Alice and Burton Berget. He was an only child. I met Gary at Canada College in 1969. We were married in Palo Alto in 1970. We had a stillborn son on October 12, 1972. Gary died from injuries sustained in a motorcycle crash. He was cremated and his ashes were scattered at sea along the California coast.
