Duncan Banner, Sun., June 8, 2008 Owasso, Okla. Former Duncan, Okla., resident GEORGE ALLAN ROUNTREE, 87, of Owasso, died Thursday, June 5, 2008, in Owasso. Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday in Tanglewood Bible Fellowship, with Dr. Brad McCoy officiating. Interment will be in Duncan Cemetery under direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home. George was born Feb. 1, 1921, in Skiatook, to Arch and Mary Babb Rountree. He married Paula Jane Byars on Jan. 9, 1954, in Pauls Valley. She preceded him in death Jan. 31, 2001. He was a veteran and served in the U.S. Navy. A graduate of John Brown University, George was an electrical engineer and worked for North American Aviation and Halliburton Services. He also owned and operated Alarm Systems Engineering. He was a member of Tanglewood Bible Fellowship Church in Duncan. Survivors include a son, Brooks Rountree of Owasso; a daughter, Robin Richey of Duncan; four grandchildren, Kristen Arrington, Jeremy Richey, Katie Rountree and Rachel Rountree; and two great-grandchildren, Ryan and Madison Arrington. He was also preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Lorna Wray; and a daughter-in-law, Jill Rountree. Bearers will be Dale Corbin, Tommy Lovett, Homer Cox, Jeff Tidwell, Alan Duell and Rick Shondelmyer.
