She married George Allan Rountree, and had children Brooks Allan Rountree and Robin Elyse (Rountree) Richey. Paula Rountree died at age 74 years old on January 31, 2001.

    ROUNTREE -- Paula Jane, 74, of Duncan, OK died Wednesday, January 31, 2001, in Lawton, OK. She was born January 3, 1927, in Ben Franklin, TX to Paul Braden and Hallie Pearl (Cope) Byars. She married George Rountree on January 9, 1954 at Pauls Valley, OK. She was a graduate of East Texas State Teachers College and later attended the University of Tulsa from 1968 until 1969. She taught school in Raymondville, TX from 1947 until 1950, in Pauls Valley, OK from 1951 until 1954 and in Tulsa, OK from 1958 until 1959. She was also an Assistant Librarian at Duncan High School and owned and operated Paula's Attic in downtown Duncan. She was a member of Tanglewood Bible Fellowship. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by: her husband, George; son, Brooks Allan and Jill Rountree of Owasso, OK; daughter, Robin Elyse and Robert Richey of Duncan, OK; brother, Hoyt Byars of Garland, TX; 4 grandchildren, Katie Rountree, Rachel Rountree, Jeremy Richey, and Kristen Arrington; and 1 great-grandson, Ryan Arrington. Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, February 3, 2001 at Tanglewood Bible Fellowship Church with the Rev. Brad McCoy officiating. Interment will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Duncan, OK. In lieu of flowers donations may be given to the Tanglewood Bible Fellowship Mission Trip Fund, 5th and Camelback, Duncan, OK 73533. Service entrusted to Don Grantham Funeral Home, Duncan, OK.
