George Blamey 1877 - 1934

George Blamey was born in 1877 in Maldon, Mount Alexander Shire County, VIC Australia to Thomas Blamey and Elizabeth Ann Blamey ( Dower, and had siblings Frederick Blamey, Annie (Blamey) Mullett, and Frank Blamey. George Blamey died at age 56 years old in September 1934.

In 1886, by the time he was only 9 years old, on January 5th, Scottish novelist Robert Louis Stevenson's book the Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde was published. Immediately popular, the paperback book was sold for $1 in the U.S. - almost $25 today. Stevenson's stepson said that he wrote the first draft in under 3 days.
