    Shepparton Advertiser, 16 June, 1936. MR. GEORGE PETTIFER. The death has occured at the age of 70 years of one of the oldest identities of the Merrigum district, in the person of Mr. George Pettifer. The late Mr. Pettifer, who's mourned by a widow and a grown family, was well known to a large circle of friends, and had seen the growth and expansion of the district over a large number of years. The interment took place in the Tatura Cemetery yesterday afternoon, the Rev. Mr. Blennerhassett, of Kyabram conducting the burial service.
