    The Sun, Kalgoorlie. 27 October, 1918. THE Friends of the late JOHN PETTIFER, late of Bardoc, are respectfully informed that his remains will be removed from the Government Hospital, at 4:30 TO-DAY (Sunday) for interment in the Church of England portion of the Kalgoorlie Cemetery. The Coolgardie Miner, 21 March, 1898. Pettifer and party, who hold an alluvial claim at Kanowna, on the south lead, obtained 93oz of free gold last week... The Australian Town and Country Journal- Sydney, 11 June, 1898. In the Kanowna alluvial district, there are about 1000 claims, some 5000 miners are engaged, and while the majority are on gold, many others receive wages.
