    George L Tingue is the son of Burt Tingue (1870-1942) and Kate Lily Austin (1876-1918). He was born on June 17, 1918 in Leon, New York and had siblings Ralph Leigh (1901-1971), Stanley D (1902-1999), Ethel (1908-1998), Defroest (1911-1972), Doris E (1911-1990), Herbert (1914-1981), and Robert A Tingue (1914-1985). He joined the military on January 7, 1941 and served in the Army until October 19, 1946. He married his first wife, Edna Grace Dash (1926-1982) on December 8, 1945 in Persia, New York, USA. Together they had multiple children including Diana L (1949-2014), and Alice M Tingue (died 2014). They later sepertaed, and George remarried on May 26, 1975 to Rhea E Brown (1923-2012).
