George "Ben" Tingue was born on December 22, 1919 to parents Rev George B Tingue (born 1865) and Mary E Flood (1875-1968). He had siblings Sadiee M (1893-1921), Jessie (born 1896), Sadie E (1898-1968), Olin George (1900-1959), Burton R (born 1903), and Lettie (born 1911). George enlisted on December 4, 1941 in Sacramento California (Military serial#: 39085189). He served as a Sergeant in the US Army during World War II. He married Ann L Grits (1922-2021) and they had children Judith A (1939-2007), Dixie (1944-2008), and a son.
