He had siblings Edward Arnold Coxhead, Suzette Mary Coxhead, Amy Coxhead, Frederick Coxhead, Annie Victoria Mary Coxhead, Edward Arnold Coxhead, and Emily Sarah Coxhead. He married Martha Alderson Coxhead in 1883, and had children Ivan Dann Coxhead, Eric James Major Alderson, Edwin Thomas George Coxhead, Roger Alderson Hungerford Coxhead, Ronald Septimus Hungerford Coxhead, Laurence Joseph Louis Hungerford Coxhead, and Amy Alma Coxhead. George Coxhead died at age 87 years old on December 30, 1943 in Footscray, City of Maribyrnong County.
