He married Bertha Maud Millott in 1918, and had children George Thomas Coxhead and Roger Roy Coxhead. Roger Coxhead died at age 63 years old on August 19, 1960 in Footscray.

There was such an outcry that legislation was passed to regulate meat packing. Sinclair said " "I aimed at the public's heart, and by accident I hit it in the stomach."
