George William Saunders of Stawell Australia was born in 1893 in Stawell to Mary Ann (Ormston) Saunders and Charles Henry Saunders. He had siblings Francis Exon Saunders, Margaret Elizabeth Saunders, Emma Saunders, Edwin Exon Saunders, Charles Henry Saunders, Inez (Saunders) Redman, and Mary Alice (Saunders) Frampton. George Saunders died at age 23 years old on September 25, 1917, and was buried at Ploegsteert Memorial Panel 7. in Belgium.
