Gerald James Wehmer Obituary
Gerald James "Jerry" Wehmer, age 46, passed away June 2, 2000, in Austin, Texas, after a courageous two year battle with colon cancer.

He was born September 12, 1953, in Beatrice, Nebraska, the son of Lawrence Leroy Wehmer and Ina June Harder. He grew up in Sious Falls, Iowa, and attended University of Iowa on a football scholarship. He was division manager for Encyclopedia Britannica in Los Angeles until 1992 when he and his wife relocated to Dripping Springs, Texas.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Lisa Paige Caruso Wehmer, his best friend and helpmate for 14 years; his beloved dachshund, Spencer D; his mother, Ina Swanson; and his brother, Alan Robert Wehmer: father and mother-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. Charles J.
Caruso of Houston; brother-in-law, Charles L. Caruso and wife Sandra Jean; nieces, Charlotte Lauren Caruso and Jessica Paige Caruso, all of Houston; sister-inlaw, Whitney Caruso Garney and her husband, James Lowell Garney of Houston.

Special thanks to Dr. Jim Brand, Medical Director of Peoples Community Clinic, Austin, Texas, for his sympathetic care and friendship during Jerry's illness, and to the caring staff at Hospice Austin. Jerry will be greatly missed by numerous friends in his community and all over the country.

Jerry requested cremation, and a memorial service will be held at the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in Wimberley, Texas, Thursday, June 8, 2000, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at City Cemetery, Wimberley.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Jerry's name may be made to: James Brand, MD, Peoples Community Clinic, 2909 North IH-35, Austin, Texas 78722, or to Hospice Austin, 4107 Spicewood Springs Road, Suite # 100, Austin, Texas 78759. Austin-Peel and Son Funeral Home, Austin, Texas.
