On Gerald's enlistment record on August 19, 1944 in San Francisco California, he was enlisting as a private, was single, and with an education of 3 years of high school. He was a citizen of the United States and born in Arkansas. He was living in Fresno, California. His civil occupation was "Semiskilled chauffeurs and drivers, bus, taxi, truck, and tractor". Gerald was discharged from the United States Army on August 19 1944. Gerald married Ruby Frances McConnell (1922 - 1991). He had children Gary, Jerry, Reggie, Rita, Debbie, and Donna.     The Napa Valley Register (Napa California) October 24 1995 Napa - GW "Gerry" McConnell, a Napa County resident since 1970, died Friday at his home after a brief illness. He was 75. Mr. McConnell, who was employed as a general manager of Moore Ranch in Conn Valley, is survived by three sons, Gary of St Helena, and Jerry and Reggie, both of Napa; three daughters, Rita Stevens of Edmond, Okla, Debbie Torres of St Helena and Donna McConnell of Calistoga; 10 grandchildren' and one great-grandchild. A graveside service will be held at 11 am Wednesday at St Helen Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 pm at Morrison Funeral Chapel, 990 Vintage Ave St Helena. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Napa Valley, 5 Financial Plaza, Suite 201, Napa, 94558, or a charity of the donor's choice.
