Gertrude Morr Towns was born on May 28, 1867 in Oswego County, New York United States to Chauncey Towns and Mary Jane Wallace, and had siblings Mina May Towns, Carrie Belle Towns, DeWitt Chancy Towns, Rossa Adell Towns, and Ulysses Steven Towns. She was in a relationship with William James Findlay, and had children Emma Belle Findlay, Alfred Earl Findlay, Wheeler Andrew Findlay, Lester Allen Findlay, and David Leo Findlay. Gertrude Towns died at age 79 years old on June 10, 1946 in Royal Oak, Oakland County, MI, and was buried at Denmark Township Cemetery in Tuscola County.
