Gipson Miller Obituary which reads:

Cowden, February 16th: G. P. "Gip" Miller, early day pioneer settler in the Cowden community, died Friday at the home of his son, Rice in Clinton after a long illness.

Services were at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Cowden highschool auditorium with Rev. Albert T. Trent and Rev. J. H. Kern officiating. Burial was in the Sappington chapel cemetery. The congregation of old friends over filled the auditorium.

Fipson Perry Miller was born July 1, 1872, at Blooming Grove, Texas. He was one of the pioneer settlers, having filed on his place half a mile north of Cowden in 1892 and was active in the development of the county. He was married to Ida House Feb. 22, 1895. Mrs. Miller died March 4, 1940. For many years he was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness church at Cowden and at the time of his death was a member at Clinton.

Surcicors are five sons, Rice, Clinton; Jake, Mountain View; John B., Cowden; Guy, Lamont, Calif; and Rev. Burt Miller, Altus; and two daughters, Mrs. Flora Milward, Weatherford, and Mrs. Annie Isbell, Cordell/ Mr. Miller had 33 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother, J. L. Miller, Carnegie.
