I'm not sure I've seen many studio portraits from 1910 taken with an adorable little kitty!? Meet Gladys (Simmons) Van Kleeck (1897 - 1960) with her cat Patsy.

Gladys Simmons was an only child born to John and Cora (Wolven) Simmons in New York. She was born, raised, and lived her entire life in Ulster County near the Hudson River. She must have been a family person because she grew up in her maternal grandparents' home, and after she married, lived with her mother-in-law, her husband, and son.

Thanks to community member Roxie, we have photos of Gladys at various ages and glimpses into her life to remember her by.

Probably taken in Kingston, New York. Guessing the date would be sometime in the 1910s? The silver in the emulsion went bad and this is the best I could do to reduce the reflectivity.
