I knew Granger. He graciously invited my then-wife and me to honeymoon on Nantucket and to stay at his historic home. He was an individualist and bent to the whims of no man, it seemed to me. I also, at that time had the pleasure of meeting one of his sons and his son's wife and their (then) small child. This was in 1983. Granger was a man not easily forgotten, once met, and I will treasure his memory.
