Harriet Eleanor LAUGHLIN TRAYLOR
Harriet Eleanor LAUGHLIN TRAYLOR
I have in my possession an old photograph identified as Harriet Eleanor LAUGHLIN TRAYLOR of Mercer County MO. The dates of 6 Nov 1860 and 16 Jan 1912 are written on the back of the photograph along with "Utica, KS". I believe that the photograph was likely taken in the 1880's with Harriet likely in her 20's at the time the photograph was taken. Based on limited research I was able to gather the following information:

Harriet Eleanor LAUGHLIN was b. 6 Nov 1860 in Mercer County, MO to parents John Thomas LAUGHLIN (1831-1888) and Rachel or Rachael T. WAKEFIELD (1832-1889). Harriet was one of 7 children born to this couple including Elizabeth Jane; Charles William; Harriet Eleanor; Joseph Edmund or Edmond “Ed”; Thomas F.; Rachel Antonia or Antiona; and Baby Girl LAUGHLIN, all born between 1856 and 1871. Harriet was married twice, first to James C. TERRY (1860-1891) with whom she had on child, a son James Laughlin TERRY (b. 1882).

Her second marriage was to William Edward TRAYLOR (1867-1935) and they had 5 children including Fanny Fern; Bera S.; Francis Marion; John Dewey; and Edward Leonies TRAYLOR, all born between 1892 and 1901. Harriet died 13 Jan 1912 in Utica, KS and is buried in the Utica Cemetery in Utica, KS.

I am hoping to locate someone from Harriet’s family so that the photograph can be returned to its rightful place with family. If you are a member of this family or know someone who might be, please contact me.

Thanks,
Shelley
