  • Introduction

    Harry's father was John Draper, born in 1873 in Ohio. His mother was Jemima Jones (1875 - 1961), also born in Ohio. He had a brother Alvin Draper. Harry married Grace Louise Wheeler (1915 - 2007) on November 25, 1936 in Columbiana Ohio. It was the first marriage for both of them. On their marriage license, Grace waid that she was a "decorator." Harry said that he was an "industrial engineer." He also married Mary Elizabeth Frischkorn (1917 - 1994) ion April 24 1943 in Florida. They are both buried in the same graveyard in Ohio. Harry had two daughters: Janet and Joan. According to the 1940 federal census, Harry and Grace were living with their daughter Joan (11 months old) in East Liverpool, Ohio. Harry, age 28, was working as a "wringer" in a laundry. Harry was a World War II veteran, serving in the quartermaster corps attached to the Air Force at Ft. Meyers Florida.

    According to his military records, Harry entered the service as a "Semiskilled Occupations In Laundering, Cleaning, Dyeing, And Pressing Apparel And Other Articles" At the time of his death, Harry was retired as a timekeeper from the former Mullins Manufacturing Co of Warren Ohio, last working in 1962. He had been employed there for 15 years.

    Harry was a member of Masonic Lodge 507 and of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Masonic Lodge of Youngtown Ohio. He was also a member of Alpha Chapter 44 of Eastern Star of West Farmington and the Raymond Johnson American Legion Post of Cortland Ohio.
