    David was a SPC4 in the US Army. He was an escort for the American Freedom Train in 1975-1976. A graduate of Senatobia High School, he attended Northwest Junior College. He was an excellent trumpet player and selected several times to play "Taps" for military funerals in the Memphis, TN, area.

    Harvey Eugene Tyler, 71, died Wednesday, January 5, 2005 at North Oak Regional Medical Center in Senatobia, MS. Mr. Tyler enjoyed working with cattle in the Mid-south, and often met prominent people, but it was his family he enjoyed most. He leaves his wife, Betty Downs Tyler; his son, Jody Tyler; two daughters, Sarah Tyler and Alice Tyler Steinman, all of Senatobia. His grandchildren are Mike Dickerson, Kim Steinman, Dustin Tyler, Lane Tyler, and Colt Tyler. Also, his great-grandchildren are McKenzie and Jesse Dickerson. Mr. Tyler was preceded in death by his son, David, and he loved to say, "My son did things that will never happen again." Mr. Tyler was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and was baptized by the late Rev. C.O. Pate. A private graveside service was written by his wife of 51 years and read by his granddaughter Kim. He was buried Friday, January 7 at Senatobia Memorial Cemetery.
