Obituary for Helen M. Gallo - This Tribute Created by Joseph Boeglin of Stroudsburg, Pa. Helen M. Gallo 92 of Stroudsburg died on Saturday June 17, 2017 in the Pleasant Valley Manor Snydersville, Pa. Born in East Stroudsburg she was the daughter of Antonio and Josephine (Adorno) Gallo. Helen was a lifelong resident of the Stroudsburg area where she owned and operated the Gallo’s Bar on lower Main St. in Stroudsburg for many years. Gallo’s bar opened in 1933 by Helen’s father Anthony, the first bar in Stroudsburg to get a liquor license. Helen began working with her father when she became 21 years of age and ran the bar until it closed in 2014. She was a member of St. Luke’s Catholic Church of Stroudsburg, Pa. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Samuel, Paul and Anthony Gallo, and Mary Boeglin, Josephine Cook, and Angeline Welter and a niece Josephine Gallo Benner. Helen is survived by her nephews Robert Gallo, Baldwin, MD, Samuel Gallo Essex, MD., Thomas Welter, Ormond Beach, FL., and Joseph Boeglin of Stroudsburg, Pa. and her nieces Barbara Gallo Aguiar of Nesquehoning, Pa. and Paulette Gallo of Paradise Valley, Pa. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated will be celebrated on Thursday June 22, 2017 at 10:00am from St. Luke’s Catholic Church 818 Main St. Stroudsburg, Pa. with Fr. Carmen Perry as celebrant. Burial will be in the family plot in St. Matthews Cemetery East Stroudsburg, Pa. The family will receive friends from 9:00am until the time of the Mass at the church. The Joseph J. Pula Funeral Home Inc. 23 N. 9th St. Stroudsburg is in charge of the arrangements. Pulafuneralhome.com
