Henry Auhl was born in 1867 at Janefield in Bundoora, VIC Australia to Christopher Auhl and Fanny (Gerraty) Auhl, and had siblings Emily (Auhl) Gibson, John Auhl, Elizabeth Auhl, Margaret Mary Auhl, William Auhl, and Catherine Auhl. He was in a relationship with Annie Louise (Barker) Auhl Becker, and had children Roy Ernest Auhl, Thelma Alice Auhl, Linda Annie (Auhl) Lierse, and Les Auhl. Henry Auhl died at age 68 years old on October 19, 1936.

In 1887, he was 20 years old when on July 1st, the assembly for the supports of the Eiffel Tower began . A wrought iron lattice tower, it was designed and built by Gustave Eiffel - who also contributed to the building of the Statue of Liberty. There are 18,000 pieces in the Eiffel Tower - which had to be built separately and then assembled in place - with rivets - to complete the Tower.
